Robin Outland - Executive Director/CEO

 

She joined the paid staff again last Fall as the Health and Safety Services Director, having worked over ten years in corporate America, mostly in sales and marketing. She then accepted the position of Executive Director on June 1, 2009. She is a 1993 graduate of Leadership Norman and was named a Hot Mama in the Norman Living magazine in recognition for her community involvement, which includes:

 ·        Public Relations Co-Chair for United Way of Norman Campaign Cabinet (2006 and 2007)

·        Special Events Chair for United Way of Norman (1996, 1997, 2004)

·        Founding member of Le Tour De Vin

·        Helpline Volunteer and guest newspaper columnist for Helpline articles, the weekly “Answering Your Questions” and the monthly “Volunteers in Action.”

·        Campaign coordinator and Loaned Executive for United Way (1993-2006)

·        Founding member of Samaritan Journey, created at JourneyChurch in 2006 to involve church members in community service. Projects included Habitat for Humanity, East Main Place, The Christmas Store (new toy room sponsor), Walk for Life, and more. Samaritan Journey has since grown into a church wide event now called LoveWorks, for which Robin continues to serve as needed.

·        Meals Team Coordinator and Welcome Booth volunteer for JourneyChurch (current).

·        Past chairman of Baby Steps (a teen parenting project and daycare center for Norman high school students).

·        PTA President for Monroe Elementary

·        Soccer and Baseball coach for many years

Robin received her bachelor’ degree in Journalism-Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 1987 and is a 1981 graduate of NormanHigh School, where she was the editor-in-chief of the high school newspaper.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

Robin Outland has been with the American Red Cross in some capacity for over 21 years. She was on staff from 1987 to 1993 and served on the Board of Directors almost continuously until last June, for which she received the Clara Barton Award for Meritorious Leadership.

Kenneth Bentley - Emergency Services

Kenney Bentley has been with the Red Cross for nearly 10 years. After graduating from CameronUniversity in Lawton, Oklahoma in May of 1999, He began his Red Cross career as a Military Casework Specialist at the Armed Forces Emergency Services Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

He was hired in 2004 as the Director of Emergency Services., which includes Military Emergency Services in addition to Disaster Services and International Social Services.

Kenneth has led our Chapter volunteers through several large scale disasters to include Hurricane Katrina and Rita as well as numerous floods, ice storms, grass fires, hazardous material spills, an aviation accident, and hundreds of single family house fires. Kenneth is a member of the Norman Kiwanis and active on the Norman Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee.

Joshua Bridges - Health and Safety Director

 Josh started with our Chapter as an AmeriCorps Member and became Health and Safety Director January 1, 2010. He has a Microbiologoy Degree from the University of Oklahoma and has worked as a ballroom dance instructor, professional photographer, EMT, chef, ranch hand, veterinary assistant, and more. He is engaged to Christine Aspy, who will begin her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center this summer. They will be married on June 5, 2010.

 

 

Angielee Wright - Garvin County Branch Manager

In November 1992, Angielee Wright became a Red Cross volunteer in Garvin county, canteening donors at local blood drives.  In 1997 she became a donor consultant for Blood Services, and then representing Garvin county, joined the Board of Directors for the newly formed Heart of Oklahoma Chapter.  In 2000 the Chapter opened a branch office in Garvin county and Angielee has been in place as the manager there ever since. 

Angielee works closely with local volunteers responding to emergencies where she assists those affected by disasters, as well as emergency workers in need of a canteen.  On a daily basis, she assists with the needs of Garvin county residents trying to recover from the personal tragedy of unexpected and unwelcome disasters.

Angielee and husband Kevin are raising their three children; Jordan, Jacob, and Jestin, in ElmoreCity.  She stays very busy with a family farm, is a founding Board member of the Elmore City Youth Association and serves in many capacities in support of her children’s activities. In addition, she is a graduate of the Leadership Mid America Class X. 

Through her work of educating GarvinCounty citizens about saving lives through American Red Cross training, she is most proud of having earned the local nickname of the "Red Cross Lady."

Tamara Sharp - Pontotoc County Branch Manager

Tamara Sharp joined the staff of the American Red Cross, Heart of Oklahoma Chapter, in December 2008, as the Pontotoc County Branch Manager. 

Tamara brings with her experience in non-profit administration with organizations such as Ponca Main Street Authority, as well as an extensive background in business.

She is returning to the Ada area and her family, having been raised in Fittstown, Pontotoc County.

Charllott Smith - Administrative Assistant

Charllott was a volunteer with the American Red Cross through Cleveland County Workforce Development from July through December of 2003. She was thrilled when she became a staff member in January in 2004. Also, she was an employee of the Heart of Oklahoma during Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

She has one son, Chris, and one Grandson, Ryan, and three granddaughters Emma, Abby, and Alex. She resides in Slaughterville with her husband, Frank.
