The Heart of Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross provides training for its volunteers and for any member of the community that would like to learn more about life-saving skills.
Disaster Training: Our volunteers learn where their talents lie in helping during times of disaster. From home fires to large scale or catastrophic events, our volunteers understand that the loss that is felt by the victims of the disaster is the same. Volunteers can learn how to help one on one clients, work in the shelter kitchen, how to access damage, or a wide range of other areas of assistance.
Preparedness Training: Are you ready when the time comes? Do you know what to do in different types of emergencies. Do you have an emergency kit or know what one should contain? At the Red Cross we know its not if, its when the time comes. Don't wait thinking "This won't happen to me." You want to be ready when the time comes. If you would like a Community Disaster Education presentation at your business or organization, please contact Kenneth Bentley, emergency services director, via email or at 405-321-0591.
Health and Safety Training: Classes are offered every month at the Chapter, can be brought to your organization or place of business, or can be taken at several local area outlets. We often hear of stories where someone in one of our classes was able to help someone in need while they waited for emergency professionals to arrive...potentially saving a life.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the online enrollment, please contact the Chapter at 405-321-0591.
